One Shot Design Process using the 4 D's

DESIGN PROCESS (THE 4 D's) FOR OUR ONE SHOT

. DISCOVERING
. DEVELOPING
. DEFINING
. DELIVERING

DISCOVERING - The discovering process came from 5 members who made up our group. All of us came up with our own quick instant ideas and threw the thoughts at each other. We then went away and came up with our own individual ideas and met back up a few days later to discuss each of our ideas over a coffee. On arrival we made a group decision to be critical of each others ideas in order to help us gather what we thought were the best bits. We all seemed to like the idea of a film based inside of an elevator...............

DEVELOPING - We agreed on an elevator based idea which originally stemmed from one of the group members, we then mixed that idea with a storyline that we liked from another group member. After agreeing to these two key factors we had developed a core for our one shot movie and we quickly got onto adding and removing certain elements until we came up with something that we liked. We had an added bonus in affect also because we had one person in our cast that was an outside member of the group and i think that was beneficial to us as she made a few comments about certain things, which was good because she was looking at it from a different perspective.............

DEFINING - We then got onto filming our One Shot movie and as we went along we started to notice a few areas had some rough edges which we gradually started to round off until we were happy with them. The sort of things we were defining were little things like character mannerisms or lighting alterations. These are the things that you can only really start perfecting once your on set and you physically have everything in place & you are there to see what needs amending slightly. Once we were satisfied with our movie it was time to get onto the computer for editing and the finer touches such as sound effects, backing music & voice overs................

DELIVERY - We are at the final stage now, so its a case of getting it on screen now and watching it back and getting others to view it and give there verdicts and opinions.
